Kyneton Community Park
Kyneton Community Park was a community initiated project to develop a new play space and park within the township of Kyneton. Local residents, in particular parents, identified a lack of quality children’s play spaces and led an initiative for a new high-end park for the entire community, of which nature-based play was to be a substantial component.
Macedon Ranges Shire Council identified a site within the arboretum of the historic Kyneton Botanic Gardens for the park. A Master Plan followed in 2010/2011 identifying a suitable location. Detailed concept design for the park was carried out in consultation with the community in 2012, and led to the procurement of State and Federal funding. The Kyneton Community Park opened to the public in June 2017 and has been extremely popular with the local community. |
